Welcome to the Canberra Ice Dragons Dragon Boat Club

With the motto: 'Fun, fit & fabulous ... just add water!', the Canberra Ice Dragons Dragon Boat Club is a diverse club which welcomes all paddlers: new & experienced; male, female & non-binary; and from any age group: school-aged students/youth, premiers & seniors. Regardless of what your reason is for joining the club, be it friendships, fitness or your drive to compete, there is something to suit everyone within the Ice Dragons club. The Ice Dragons are a cohesive team who takes pride in its club spirit demonstrated by its competitiveness on the water and its social events & friendly nature on land.

Ice Dragons 2023

The Canberra Ice Dragons offers one month of free paddling through its New Paddler Program with new paddlers welcome to come and join us at any time.  The Ice Dragons generally train Monday & Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings but during during September are coming out of the off-season and follow a modified schedule:

  • Saturdays: 8.15am warm up and on the water 8.30 to around 10.00am
  • Mondays: 5.45pm warm up and on the water 6.00 to 7.00pm
  • at Grevillea Park with parking on Menindee Drive (overflow parking at Russell Offices - please take care crossing the road)

Dress in clothes you don’t mind getting wet – you might get a little paddle splash.  New paddlers from youths (12+) to masters/seniors welcome, no experience required - our qualified and experienced Coaching Team will look after you.

Dragon Boating is an exciting, fantastic team sport with a rich cultural history that is great fun too.  If you want to try Dragon Boating, the Ice Dragons is the club for you!
